Jeonju is a historic city in western South Korea, and the capital of North Jeolla Province. The name Jeonju literally means “Perfect Region” (from the hanja 全 (전; jeon) for perfect, 州 (주; ju) for region). It is an important tourist and cultural center in South Korea, famous for Hanok Village, lots of Korean food, historic buildings, and innovative festivals, including Jeonju International Sori Festival.
